Winemaker Bradley Brown planted his first vineyards in 2000 and is now producing ten different wines. Recognized by Wine Spectator as a “Promising New Producer” and selected by Wine & Spirits as one of the Top 100 wineries Big Basin is known for Syrah and Pinot Noir. Robert M. Parker Jr. of the Wine Advocate recently had this to say: "I have consistently enjoyed these wines from Big Basin winery. They are big, beautifully balanced and impeccably well made efforts displaying lots of purity.” Passionately driven to produce unique and compelling wines, Bradley grows organically and ferments only with native yeasts. The Estate vineyard is planted exclusively to Rhone varietals including Syrah, Grenache, Roussanne and Viognier. Three single vineyard Pinots are sourced from meticulously farmed vineyards in the cool Corralitos region just a few miles from Monterey Bay. Bradley is also working closely with Coastview Vineyard located at 2400 ft high in Gabilan Mountains overlooking Monterey and the Salinas Valley. Syrah, Grenache and Pinot are sourced from this extraordinary vineyard planted in decomposed granite and limestone soils, farmed organically and grazed by sheep.
